Almost 7000 enthusiastic shoppers visited Eveleigh Market on Saturday 8 May to sample the fresh farmers produce on offer and to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the old Blacksmith’s Workshop.
Crowds stocked up on fresh artisan breads, farm eggs, high-quality fruit and vegetables and more at the old rail yards site in Darlington. Also happening on the day was the bi-annual event Finders Keepers at Carriageworks, an art and design market supporting independent and emerging designers.
Eveleigh Market’s popularity continues to thrive with it being the only ‘rail, hail or shine’ markets on offer. Eveleigh Farmers’ Market was voted ‘Best 2010 Sydney Market’ by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Ariana Aljinovic, Eveleigh Market Manager, is thrilled at the markets popularity saying: “It is fantastic to have the continued support of the local Redfern residents and other surrounding Sydney communities who are making Eveleigh Market such a success.
“The old Blacksmith Workshop has been transformed to create a unique and dynamic location selling only the best in fresh produce straight from the farm.”
Eveleigh Market is open every Saturday from 8am-1pm and is managed by Australian Technology Park.
An Artisans Market, hosted by Eveleigh Market, is held on the first Sunday of the month at the same location. The next Artisan Market will be held on Sunday 6 June.
