Post Op Group has arrived

When Serge Lacroix went into business as the sole owner-operator of The Sergery sound studio in 2001, his first major client was the television show, Better Homes and Gardens.

Not long after, a friend put his post-production company up for sale. “It was nerve-wracking,” says Serge, but he made the decision to buy Babylonia.

Serge went on to launch three more enterprises – Klinik graphic design, NCC Avid equipment hire, and PLx DVD design and authoring – and consolidated operations under the banner, Post Op Group, in 2006.

Despite taking over ever-increasing office space at McMahons Point, the burgeoning group was still finding its last 900-square-metre North Shore premises a squeeze.

The ATP’s newest tenants took possession of their expansive 1,800-square-metre facility in Bay 15, in January 2009. “Everyone loves the building,” Serge is pleased to report.

These days Post Op is a specialist in every aspect of sound and vision post-production, offering integrated turnkey solutions. Its team of full-time mixers, editors and designers are a tight family, who rally when the going gets hectic and enjoy the chance to work across several projects.

The really big difference in the group’s offering at the ATP is a series of production units: private offices that clients can use while carrying their projects through to polished finished product. Client staff working on site at Post Op can number as many as 75.

This cosy arrangement in a spacious new location has boosted productivity for The Sergery, Babylonia, Klinik, NCC and PLx, reckons Serge, the group’s managing director. “I’ve got a great team, who make everything nice an easy.”

Look out for some of their latest work on Top Gear, Missing Persons Unit, Home Made, The Zoo, Border Security, The Force and, still going strong too, Better Homes and Gardens.
