At this year’s Dreamtime 09 Gala Dinner, Australia’s top chefs were put in charge of selling Australia to the tourism market.
Five Australian top chefs served up sumptuous meals to more than 300 people in the ATP exhibition hall.
Neil Perry from Rockpool, Christine Manfield from Universal, Martin Boetz from Longrain and Greg Doyle and Grant King from Pier were on hand along with the Qantas Girls’ Choir and internationally renowned DJ Steve Ferris.
The ATP Exhibition Hall was transformed into a feature room with hanging chandeliers and live kitchens being broadcast on large screens showcasing the chefs. The design was the product of two of Australia’s leading event producers, Emma Lydiard and David Grant from DG3.
The Gala Dinner capped off a productive week for the Dreamtime 09 tourism event which saw more than 2,500 meetings between international buyers and Australian sellers.
The 12-16 October conference themed “The story of Australian incentives” was attended by 75 hosted buyers from 15 key markets in North and South Asia, Japan, New Zealand, Europe, the UK and the US.
Special thanks to Tourism Australia, BES Sydney, DG3 and ATP’s Ruby Chronis and Erin Rice who all made the Gala dinner possible.
