The ATP Innovation Plaza is set to become a unique public open space to be enjoyed by tenants and their visitors.
The upgrade, which is expected to be completed by April 2010, will return the Plaza between the Locomotive Workshop and the National Innovation Centre to its original open public status.
The Plaza served temporarily as a car park to accommodate vehicles while major works around the ATP site were being carried out. Car parking at the Plaza ceased on 30th September 2009 and all remaining car parking features have been removed.
The feature piece of the new Plaza will be the centre placement and refurbishment of the steam crane currently located inside the Locomotive Workshop. Chairs, plants, bins and heritage features will be added to the Plaza.
This will make the Plaza an inviting space for tenants and visitors to the ATP site. It will also provide for a unique meeting place for lunches, coffee and relaxation.
We then hope you will join us in a celebratory day, the details of which will be made known before completion.
