Meet the newcomer: Easylink

Easylink’s Asia Pacific subsidiary recently flew into the ATP to set up their operations in Suite 6108, Bay 2. Jeremy Fox is Vice President of Easylink Asia Pacific. He took time out of his hectic business flying schedule to tell us more about the Easylink business.

What brought your business here?

ATP was somewhere I wanted to be.  The concept of the park is excellent and the facilities and proximity to the city and airport make this an ideal location.  An interesting side point is that I have always been interested in trains and as a child used to travel past the Railway Workshops travelling into the city from Kogarah. I am very pleased with the conservation work that has been done to maintain the feeling of the history and significance of the buildings.

In simple terms what does your business do?

Easylink provides software for document and data movement.  We provide outsourced faxing, EDI services, Managed File Transfer services, and a service (DCM) which extracts key data from a company’s incoming faxes, then redelivers the fax in data-friendly form. This saves time and effort.  The familiar industry term for what we do is Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

Who are your clients?

Banking, finance, insurance, retail and manufacturing are the key industries we focus on.  We have offices in India, Hong Kong, London, Paris, New Jersey and Atlanta to service our international client base. To control the flow of the data traffic, we have network control centers in New York, London and Atlanta.

What is your advantage over your competitors?

Easylink outsourced services enables EDI or Fax or MFD with no capital outlay and no need for specialist staff, training or support. Outsourced services, SAAS (software as a solution) and virtualisation are the direction most IT managers are considering at the moment.

How many employees do you have on-site at ATP? Nationally? Internationally?

Easylink is a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ in the US. We have around 350 employees and our revenue is around US$90 million. At the ATP we will have a small contingent of three people to start, but we will be looking to build that in the future.

What is the biggest hurdle the business faces?

Controlled growth into China and other rapidly developing Asian economies.

What does 2010 hold for your company?

The year 2010 is a growth year for Easylink in Asia. We are investing heavily in the region in terms of people and network infrastructure.
